The amazing lures used to catch the heaviest granders
Keen recreational angler, Alain Jorion of Gisborne, also has his
Black Magic Freedom Grand Slammer lure available in lumo: the
Black Magic Freedom Grand Slammer Lumo Lure. Not
only is the skirt in lumo over green and orange colours, but the
head has a liberal amount of lumo green over the lead insert
within, adding to its attractiveness. The Freedom lures are based
on the pattern Alain used to catch his record 473.2kg black marlin
in February 2002, the seven-hour fight seeing him earn the NZBGFC’s
Old man and the Sea award as well as the trophy for the heaviest
fish of the season.
